Run For A Reason Kickoff Party Rescheduled

The 2008 Run for a Reason Kickoff Party of the Chevron Houston Marathon has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Park's Picnic Loop.

The celebration, which kicks off the countdown to Race Day 2009, will feature charities associated with our Run for a Reason charity program, live music, refreshments, and running club and vendor booths. The first 2,000 attendees to present their registration confirmation for one of our January 2009 events at the "In Training T-Shirt" booth will receive a free In Training t-shirt. T-shirt pick-up will be available until 7:30 p.m.

Please note that all race registration fees from the cancelled Watermill Express 5K, plus an equal match from the Houston Marathon Committee will be donated to Houston Mayor Bill White's Houston Ike Relief Fund. The $30,000 donation will go a long way to help improve the lives of those impacted by Hurricane Ike.
