January meeting minutes to be approved at a later date.

Roger: the guestion of " who is responsible to see that each club gets points for their members running in races?"...It was noted that it is the clubs responsibility to contact Shawn , who also e-mails groups prior to each race for additions.

Names can also be checked on the web-site or with Annie

The checks and plaques for Runner of the Season will be given out at the Derby Dash on 2-24-01

Chuck: Treasury report- $9,100.00 gained in Jan. 01. See typed handout for further info.

Camille: HAARA races had very good ratings. Best being a 1 and 5 poor, the lowest rating in the series was a 1 1/2.

It was asked if non- running group races could be accepted as part of the HARRA races?. It was proposed by Tom, that a seal of approval be presented. Road race management committee will discuss this and teh board will vote at the next meeting.

Tom: Footnotes issues are in the mail. Tom's new e-mail is tomwoltz@yahoo.com.

Annie: 1118 members currently. 1297 members last year at this time. Renewal reminder cards will be sent out. It was suggested that an extra charge be added for registering on-line and this was decided against.

Guest Willem Maas will be new race ditector for Run for the Arts. His e-mail is wmaas@mastnet.net

Randy introduced guest Rick Deweis. He is a runner with the City Parks and Recreation Dept. He spoke about a master plan for improving the trails at Memorial Park. Joe offered that an on going section in Footprints be alotted to keep the running community aware of the projects going on at the park. HARRA has committed to donating $12,000.00. Which the Bayoiu City Classic should help to raise.

Rosemary: Not present. Mercedes spoke about the tent set-up and pick up situation at the races. Also, Joe suggested to have each club be responsible to pick up and return the "box" with the eguipment, to and from each race.

Shawn: The Museum of Fine Arts comped the entry fee to the 5K for all the kids in his program. Medals will be given out to the kids based on participation. 150 kids did at least 1 event. 67 did 3 or more races.

John: Suggested that the logo on theIronman T-shirts be moved to the upper rt or lt section of the shirt.

Steve: PIM start set for 2-21-01. with 34 coaches. all CPR certified.

Tom M.: Noted that the insurance for eguipment was updated. Asked what can be done to increase eguipment rentals?

Bob: Not present.

Current Projects: Per Camille,there are near 1,000 entrants to the Bayou city Classic.

Races such as Bayou Bash Relay and Bellaire Trolley Run would like to be linked to the HARRA web-site.

It was noted that the HARRA Awards Banguet will now be called the Spring Banguet.

New Business: It was decided that 2 HARRA Board members would be sent to RRCA with the costs covered by HARRA. It has not been decided who will attend. Those interested will be voted on.
