Meeting began at 6;05 p.m.

Joe handed out BY-Laws to Board Members.

John Shepperd and Felix Lugo were elected to At-Large positions.

John Reich, Bill Dubunsky and Ralph Collins nominated to the Board. and approved.

Joe nominated Ram to operate the Kids Run Houston. Motion carried for approval by the Board.

Lynn T. and Georgette M. spoke to the Board about promoting runners safety. Suggested ID for all runners (Smart ID) and TRaining for club members in CPR.

Randy Spoke with Rick Duwese about having AED unit in the Park Rick is with the Houston Parks & Recreation Division. On 8/25/01 the Harriers held an interclub meet for all clubs. In 2003 the Harriers will sponsor the National Champions Trials.

Representatives from the Toronados Running Club attended the meeting to get approval for the Cross Country Relay.

Annie stated membership at 1620. Last year at same time membership was 1932. Proposal to obtain 2000 new application forms for $300.00 approved.

John Shepperd volunteered to speak to running clubs training for the Houston Marathon to help boost HARRA membership.

Steve S. introduced Ralph Collins to take over PIM. Seventh season started 9-5-01. Dyno Dash was the target race.

Jeremy is re-ordering checks and taking care of signatures.

John S. informed us there was positive feedback in reference to the new singlets and distruibution is steady.

Tom McBrayer spoke of the Anti-Drug Mayor's Race to be tied in with the Bayou City Classic 5K and headed by Camille Y.

Kids Run had sign up at Lukes Locker, Memorial Park Tennis Center and on Race Day.

Houston Marathon sign-up partyt was on 9-10-01

New Business:

Discussion of AED units in the park. Bill Dubinsky to check on changes in the law.

Liz stated there were 135 attendants at teh HARRA Banquet in June. Attendance was up from last year. It was a great party!

Jeremy informed us that the recent flood in Houston took the Web-site down for 3 weeks. It is up & running again.

Tom Woltz expressed need to have articles in on time for Footprints for the ext deadline.

Board discuused handing out free issues of Footprints to Sponsors and at Memorial Park. No longer given out at Memorial Park. Jos suggested that issues be available to new members signing up at the HARRA tent.

Ram recieved $3,000.00 from Memorial Hermann Hospital towards the Kids Run Event. Randy presented that markers be place at Memorial Park every quarter mile with the HARRA logo.

Meeting adjourned at 7:44 p.m.
