Attendance: Joe Sellers, Liz Bearman, Annie Hadow, Bob Hoekman, Bill Dubinsky, Tom McBrayer, Tom Woltz, Roger Boak, John Reich, Hope Clark, Evan Grouta'ge.

John Reich: Kids Run Banquet on 2-24-02, then the program is done for this year. One third of students received free shoes. He will begin recruiting for next year's volunteers. Also will work on increasing participation for the coming year. Discussed a thorough plan to encourage and excite kids to join the program next year.

Jeremy Mills: Was not present. E-mailed report to board members.

Tom McBrayer: Went over rules for qualifying for certified races. Discussed the need for wheelchair participants to wear helmets. Stated that attendance at the Warm-Up Series for the Houston Marathon was down this year from last.

Time for the coming elections was brought up. The Footprints issue with the information on the Board Nominees for 2002-03 will be in the May issue. Voting ballots will be in that issue. Due date for bios of candidates for publication will be the last week of March.

HARRA Membership also expires in Jun. Renewals and sign-up will be taken at the banquet in June.

Roger Boak: Houston Marathon Finisher towels and bandanas will be distributed at the Party in the Park on Saturday 2-23-02.

It was noted that the Power in Motion run will be the Friends of Scleroderma race. The HARRA Bayou Bash Relay Race is being held the day before.

Tom Woltz: The Houston Marathon issue of Footprints will be in March. The staff is working on getting Footprints out in a more timely manner to better suit our advertisters.

Bob Hoekman: The AED update class is scheduled for 2-28-02.

Annie Hadow: HARRA has 1,931 members.

Randy Carlson: Not present. Per Bob Hoekman, it is hoped that HARRA can supply police with an AED unit to have on hand while patroling Memorial Park.
