New Race Requirements—To address safety concerns as well as potential liability issues, the board discussed adding the following language to the requirements for all future HARRA races: “If a race serves alcoholic beverages, the race must (1) not serve anyone who is obviously intoxicated or presents the appearance of being a danger to themselves; and (2) not serve anyone who is under legal drinking age.” There was no opposition to this addition, so this requirement will apply to all future HARRA races.

Marathon Party Recap—The whole party was very successful, with John Phillips doing a great job setting up for all clubs. 35 people signed up for HARRA at the party, and many others took forms. Since the party 150 new members have signed up. Next year we will strive to have even more board members present at the Party.

Marathon Kids Program—Marla and Caroline have about half of the 150 volunteers needed for this event, to be held October 22, 2005 at Rice University.
Practice for the Tour—Roger Boak reported that Puma will give 6 singlets per race for all winners in all categories, as well as six pairs of shoes.
