Anna called the meeting to order at
Road Races:
Bayou Bash Relay: Anna will send a letter to ALRC informing
them of the new HARRA Relay award category requirements. She confirmed the
HARRA Fall Series dates as follows: Tornados Relay 9/22; USA 10 Miler 10/14;
Houston Half Marathon 10/28; HMSA 25K 11/11; 30K 12/9; and Houston Marathon
Summer Celebration:
Those in attendance agreed that the food was good and the speaker (Dan Green) was excellent. Anna noted that there are still some marathon towels left, which Roger will distribute through the clubs. Anna is going to have the new Club plaques engraved.
Footprints:
Anna reported for Jon that he has plenty of material and is
getting a lot of club reports. The Board discussed the possibility of expanding
the amount of space HARRA is allotted in “Inside

Anna advised everyone that Sarah Graybeal has been working hard on the website, which was recently launched.
Treasurer’s Report:
Audrey reported that HARRA had a net income of $1,100 in May. We paid the insurance premium for the equipment as well as PIM related expenses. Upcoming expenses in June will be the VVIP awards and the ROTS checks.
Awards and Trails:
Roger informed the Board that the Spring Tour de Bayou is complete. He is working on the Club, Team, and Ironfoot awards for 2007. Currently, no trail work days are planned.
PIM:
Anna reported for Jack that the Spring PIM is complete. He is encouraged that there are about 20 runners who will be joining some of the coaches for a summer maintenance program.
VVIP:
Bruce announced that he would like to see VVIP winners included in “Footprints’ and would like to see volunteers’ names posted on the HARRA website. He is going to research setting up a volunteer e-mail list through Memberize.
Member Discount Program:
Gloria agreed to take over as coordinator. Right now she is in the process of contacting current participants to see if they would like to stay on.
CPR/AED:
No update.
Just For Kids Run:
Anna announced that Angie is interested in helping coordinate the Just for Kids Run. She reported that Randy is working to get sponsors. Angie and Chris will coordinate together.
Club Updates:
The HMSA Ugly Foot contest is coming up on July 22.
Tom
advised that the Park to Park Run may have a slight course change next year
related to entering the Hermann Park trail about ½ mile from the finish. He
asked the group if anyone had any thoughts on entering the trail from the
street, which he will take under advisement when reconfiguring the course. Tom
announced that the USATF Race Walking Championship will be held in
Angie announced that she is directing a new race in 2008, Angie’s Half Crazy Half Marathon, which will be held on April 6th. Her goal is to have 1005 of the entry fee proceeds go to local Cross Country teams.
