Tom will be attending a meeting with the City of Houston Special Events team and will provide more specifics at the next Board meeting.
As a follow up to this, the Board discussed scheduling in general, since the Cross Country Relay fell on Yom Kippur this year. The Board agreed that it is up to the Race Directors, not HARRA, to decide on the dates of their races, and in doing so, taking into account any conflicts such as holidays, festivals etc. which may impact their race or field of runners.
Party in the Park: Anna reported that everything went well. The plaques were distributed and HARRA is now up to date with awarding the plaques.
Just for Kids’ Run: Anna reported that she has the logos; she will work on putting the application together in the next week. Jon Walk has been updating Anna about his correspondence with the city.

Website: No update.
Tour de Bayou/Ironfoot/Trails: Roger announced the proposed dates and venues for the Practice for the Tour. The proposed venues are: 10/2 Ho Chi Minh, 10/9 Spotts Park, 10/16 White Oak, and 10/23 the McLatchie course. Start time 6PM. Roger also announced the Tour de Art, starting at Sam Houston Park at 6:30 PM on 9/21.

CPR/AED: Bob advised that he is busy getting organized for the fall events, which involves updating his volunteer list and getting his new volunteers trained. Right now, he has about 75 volunteers on his list, 15-20 who are active and current. He feels he has a good base of volunteers and doesn’t have trouble finding people to work.
Memorial Park Conservancy: No update.
Open Discussion:
Tom announced that the Methodist Hospital Stride for Stroke will be held on the same day as the Bayou City Classic in 2008. The organizers are working hard to increase their numbers and Tom wanted everyone to be aware of the conflict. Tom brought up that he is often approached with requests to donate equipment for various events, which are raising money for charities. The Board discussed and decided that we would continue to rent our equipment only.
There was no further business to discuss. Anna adjourned the meeting at 7:00.
