Membership: Helen reported that 90 new people have joined since January, which is attributable to PIM. The Board discussed and Mark agreed to contact Inside Texas Running to see if they’ll give us a prorated subscription fee for PIM members getting the extended membership deal.
Treasurer’s Report: Audrey advised that February was a light activity month. PIM income and expenses should hit in March.
VVIP: Ron and Joe agreed to get together after the meeting to discuss VVIP awards redistribution.
Tour de Bayou: Roger has sites selected. Races will be each Thursday in April at 6PM. The last 2 are planned for Ho Chi Minh and are tentative due to the park wanting permits.
HARRA Membership Appreciation Picnic: Mark advised that we have a band lined up. We need to publicize the event better.
Banquet: Mark is checking with Leroy Burrell to see if he can be our speaker. Jay agreed to set up on-line registration. Mark moved that we charge $18 in advance and $22 at the door for members as well as non members. Children 5 and under will get in free. Joanne seconded. The Board approved. Mark’s goal is to have on-line registration set up by May 1st.
HARRA Brochure: Ron needs the HARRA logo to send to April.
CPR/AED: Bob submitted his report via e-mail. No serious medical issues at the Bayou City Classic. 9 HARRA volunteers with 7 AED units worked the course. The CPR/AED team also worked the first PIM sessions on March 3rd and 10th without incident. During February and early March, 17 AED team members were re-certified and 4 new members were trained. In addition, 10 PIM coaches were trained in CPR. The volunteer schedule for the remainder of the season is nearly full. Bob will be in charge of medical coverage at the LP Run on April 28th and Jill Washburn will assist. There will be AED coverage at 2 locations that night due to concurrent PIM session.
PIM: Ron suggested that there be Board input for new Directors in the future. Ron will communicate this to Vic. Ron motioned that we confirm Vic as new PIM Director. Mark seconded. The Board approved.
HARRA Race Requirements: The Board discussed and agreed that Race Directors should be invited to the meeting prior to their race to demonstrate that they are prepared to meet the HARRA Race Requirements. At a minimum, they should send documentation to the VP of Road Race Management to let HARRA know they are prepared to meet the requirements.
There was no further business to discuss. Ron adjourned the meeting at 7:15.
